OFSTED and SIAMS Reports
Our recent Ofsted Inspection on 4th/5th February 2025,
confirms that St. Mary’s continues to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection.
This relates to our inspection in 2016 when the school was graded as ‘Good’ and in 2020
when we were graded as ‘continues to be good’.
The Inspection has recognised the many strengths of the school. The full report is attached below, but some key highlights include:
Pupils are safe, happy and ready to learn.
Staff skilfully support pupils to access the ambitious curriculum.
The school has a strong culture of mutual respect and kindness.
The school remains firmly committed to ensuring positive outcomes for all its pupils.
The recommendations given in the report are already part of our ongoing school development plan.
I would like to thank all staff and governors for their incredible hard work and commitment.
I would also like to thank the children who were an absolute credit to us – as always!
We are particularly pleased that the Inspector commented on the significant amount of positive feedback
received from parents both through Ofsted Parent View and verbally. We are very grateful for our school community support and we look forward to continuing these successes together.
As a Church of England School, we receive regular inspections under the Statutory Inspection of Anglican & Methodist Schools framework of the National Society (SIAMS Report). The principal objective of these inspections is to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the school as a church school. Our SIAMS Inspection in June 2013 and again in April 2018 graded St. Mary's as 'Outstanding'.
Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills, regulates and inspects schools and other institutions. With each formal inspection of a school, an inspection report is produced. More information on Ofsted's activities, for parents and carers, is available here.
