Alfie
(Our School Pets As Therapy Dog)
Alfie has been coming into school since he was 9 weeks old, he qualified as an official Pets as Therapy dog at 11 months old.
He enjoys listening to the children read, loves being stroked and likes to have a stroll around the school grounds and sometimes helping out at SMASH club.
Alfie will listen to all the children at St Mary's read, he also helps some of the teachers with some topics in class.
Alfie chooses his Star of the Week - this person will get an Alfie dojo, their photo taken and a bookmark to keep!! They will also appear in the weekly newsletter!

Pets As Therapy (PAT) is a national charity that enhances the health and wellbeing of thousands of people in communities across the UK. We strive to ensure that everyone, no matter their circumstances, has access to the companionship of an animal.
Our volunteers and their temperament-assessed pets visit establishments to ensure people of all ages get the chance to chat to someone — and stroke and cuddle a friendly dog or cat.
