  Opal Class 2016 - 2017

We are a mixed class of year 3 and 4 children.

Our teacher is Mrs Elliott and Mrs Purdie is our TA.

Summer Term 2017

We have a very busy term ahead of us in Key Stage Two!

Our year four children will be going to Rock UK for their residential trip, and the year 3 children will be going to Hazard Alley too.

In music, we will be learning to play the African drums.

We have a few transition events lined up for our year 4’s, these include: a literacy event and a trip to see their summer production.

Our Key Stage trip is this term; we are going to see Horrible Histories!

The whole school will be busy putting together our summer concert for festival week later this term.

As always, we will have plenty of sporting clubs and competitions, including cricket and athletics.

Our sports day will also take place this term.

We end this term with our ‘Step up Day’ where our year 4 children will spend the day at their new middle school and the rest of the children visit their new classrooms.

Finally, we will say goodbye to our year 4 in the time honoured fashion of the leaver’s BBQ and talents!

Spring Term 2017

Welcome back to another exciting and busy term!

We would like to welcome Mrs Moore to the Key stage 2 team; she is working in Moonstone class as their new TA.

In Key Stage 2 this term we will be exploring the human body and what keeps it healthy, we will also be taking a close look at our teeth.

We are studying the Vikings in History, this is always great fun, learning about longships and invasions!

We will also be having creative arts week, which involves a lot of glue, paint and fun!

Our year 4 children have their first transition event in March, this will be PE, and the children always enjoy their first visit to Etonbury.

Our year 4 children have also been helping Rev. Bill to lead our collective worship services in school.

We would like to wish all of our teams good luck in their upcoming sports events throughout this term.

Autumn Term 2016

This term we are looking forward to studying France + Rivers, Forces + Magnets and learning lots of new songs in preparation for our KS2 production in the spring.

P.E. this term will be outside, playing tag Rugby (ready for the festival in October). Year 4 children will have an opportunity to have swimming lessons at the Saxon Pool.

There will be a number of clubs on offer this term for years 3 and 4.

The term will finish with the usual festivities that come with Christmas; concerts, parties, dinner and panto.
